Flame Bar and Grill - We're HOT!

Owned and operated by South African trio Dawn and Grant Sneddon and Colin Russel, all long time residents of New Zealand, Flame brought a new style of food and dining to the Queenstown restaurant scene. Husband and wife team, Dawn and Grant, are hands on owners and work in the restaurant most nights. Their philosphy is excellence is not a skill, its an attitude.

At Flame, all our beef is grass fed from the green, unpolluted pastures of Southland and Otago. Meat is then both wet and dry aged for 6 weeks to maximise tenderness and enhance flavour. All meat is basted in a secret basting then flame-grilled on a custom made grill imported from South Africa. The South African inspired menu, tastes and flavours, together with New Zealand’s finest beef, gives Flame steak its unique taste and flavour.

Flame’s signature dish is its rack of Pork ribs. It’s messy, tender, tangy and highly addictive. We supply you with a bib to protect your clothes and to ensure you enjoy the Flame experience in full.

At Flame we expect our customers to receive excellent and informed service. We are aware of the many dietary restrictions and allergies out there. Please inform your waiter or the manager (prior to ordering) should you have any special needs or requirements. Even though all our sauces are made from scratch, there are certain ingredients that come pre-packaged and we will do our best to check on the various ingredients listed to ensure you have a safe and pleasant meal. Any serious allergies such as nut or seafood allergies must be mentioned directly to the manager. There is gluten in our basting but please let your waiter know as to the level of your intolerance and she can work with the kitchen to prepare you a gluten–free meal.
