“We traveled to Queenstown in May, 2009 and loved it! So pretty with wonderful friendly people! While we ate at several lovely places, one stands out. 'Flame' offers many very tasty menu selections, steak and lamb being among the favorites. It is a charming, friendly place to enjoy a meal after a long day of seeing the sights! Get there early, or call to reserve a table!”

“Grant the South African chef is a master on the flame grill which delivers exciting food that melts in your mouth. The secret sauce is stunning and these are simply the best ribs in the world - even if you don't usually eat ribs, these are so very, very tender, lean and plentiful and a bargain when you realise the whole meal with the accompanying perfectly cooked steak is only NZ$37.

“They do great seafood, chicken and anything else you can think of that can be flame grilled. Dawn and their other South African partner are also wonderful hosts and it seems to always be crowded, a good indicator of quality.

“Try to get there before dark for the best elevated views over Queenstown's little harbour. But then again, it's just as good after dark with the mellow atmosphere and happy diners enjoying New Zealand's best fresh produce cooked in an original and very tasty way. Yum!

“There is no question in my mind that Flame and Grill Bar provides an amazing eating experience. We have been there on a number of occasions, and always come away totally satisfied, having eaten some of the most delicious meals one can get in New Zealand.The prices are right, the service is exemplary, the food is exquisite, and the ambiance is wonderful. As a rule I dreaded bring asked “Where does one dine in Queenstown?” Having eaten at Flame and Grill Bar, I no longer have that quandary, as now I always answer: Flame and Grill Bar of course!”
